Kalimpong is also famous for its colonial architecture and its many monasteries. Even more, the town is also known for its vibrant local festivals and traditional handicrafts. Visitors to Kalimpong can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, bird watching, and paragliding. The town is well-connected by road and is easily accessible from major cities in the region. 

1)Delo Hill: Deolo Hill is the highest point in Kalimpong and provides an amazing panoramic view of the Kanchenjunga range. It is conveniently located just 10km from hotels in kalimpong Aashiyana.

2)Durpin Dara Hill: A beautiful view of  Kalimpong town and its surrounding Himalayan ranges can be enjoyed at Durpin Dara Hill. Furthermore, it houses the renowned Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery.

3)Dr. Graham’s Homes: This residential school, founded by Dr. Alexander Graham, is a popular tourist attraction in Kalimpong. The school has a beautiful campus, and visitors can also see the Dr. Graham’s Museum.

4)Kalimpong Science Centre and Observatory: This observatory is located on the Durpin Dara Hill and offers a unique experience of learning about the cosmos.

5)Mangal Dham:

Lastly, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. It is known for its intricate carvings and beautiful architecture.

Morgan House Kalimpong

Above all, this house is a popular tourist attraction in Kalimpong. Significantly, built in the Scottish style, the house has a beautiful garden, and visitors can also see the collection of antiques.

7)Flower Nurseries: More specifically, kalimpong is famous for its flower nurseries, which produce a wide variety of flowers including orchids, anthuriums, and gladioli. Visitors can purchase flowers and potted plants from these nurseries.

8)Hanuman Tok:

Additionally, this temple is situated at an altitude of 7,000 ft, and is considered one of Lord Hanuman’s highest temples. From this temple, one can get a panoramic view of the entire Kalimpong town and the surrounding mountains.

Furthermore, the mode of transportation and time of year determine the cost of visiting these sites. As I have noted, a visit to these places can be done with an overall budget of around INR 2000-3000 for a day, which includes transport, and entry fees.
